A few weeks ago, I purchased this nifty ebook about how to control clutter: “Take Control of Your Clutter Before It Takes Control of You: 101 Tips to Success.” I was really impressed with how this was laid out and categorized by room. It’s super easy to find helpful solutions for any area of the house, and includes tips on menu planning and time management. The author says, “You will find plenty of organizing, time saving and space saving tips to help you to simplify, declutter and live a less stressed and organized life.”
I had the pleasure of recently speaking with the author, Jacquie Ross, and she gave me permission to provide a few sample tips from the ebook:
• Hang a dry erase message board near the mudroom (or exit doorway) for daily reminders or messages.
• Keep bedding simple for children’s bedrooms so they easily make their own beds.
• Set up your home office for the purpose intended – doing homework, paying bills, working on the computer, reading, etc.
• Don’t hang onto clothing that doesn’t fit. When you lose the desired weight, you can treat yourself to new clothes!
• Keep only your most frequently used utensils and small appliances on the counter to eliminate clutter.
• Keep a magnetic shopping list on the refrigerator (or other magnetic surface) and teach family members to add items to the list when they run out.
• Pack lunches the night before and store in the refrigerator.
